Programs & Services

In addition to being a free, fun and safe place for queer and questioning youth to hangout and get connected, Oasis also offers:

Prevention Programming & Services
  • Check-In, every Thursday at 7 pm! Check-In is a peer discussion about your week and what's going on in the world. We have done check-in every Thursday for 30+ years!
  • Connection to a group of peers and mentors
  • HIV Prevention Programming
  • Oasis Peer Education Network (O.P.E.N.): A group of Oasis members who are educating themselves and their peers about sexual assault prevention and sexual violence in the LGBT community. O.P.E.N. combines media literacy, critical thinking, and peer advocacy to create a community whose members enjoy healthy relationships, high self esteem, and improved communication skills.
  • Project 13, our middle school program
  • Referrals to culturally competent primary care, mental health and social service providers
  • Skill-building around healthy relationships, positive identity, self-confidence, and more
  • ​Annual Queer Prom dance for LGBTQ youth and allies
  • Youth-led discussions and workshops with recreational space, games, crafts, art, music, retreats and so much more!

Leadership Development
  • Annual Leadership Summit
  • Opportunities for volunteering, interning, and reference letters
  • Speakers Bureau: Oasis offers cultural competency trainings to area service providers, educators, and others who work with LGBTQ people.  A group of trained youth speakers share their stories through Speakers Bureau. Oasis can also offer technical assistance and support to schools, counselors, and others who are needing assistance to navigate a specific issue.
  • Youth Council: help direct important aspects of Oasis including our Community Agreements, programming, planning events and fundraising activities, providing advocacy and outreach in the community and helping to set our strategic goals
  • Queer Leaders: help welcome new youth to Oasis, facilitate programs during drop-in, and model Community Agreements

  • 24/7 hour emergency line: 253.988.2108
  • Crisis intervention and safety planning
  • Crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims of crime
  • Goal setting with HIV+ youth, survivors of violence, and others who may need additional support
  • Help navigating legal and medical systems
  • HIV testing with results in 3 minutes
  • Mental Health Referrals and free vouchers for mental health care
  • Referral to housing programs for youth experiencing homelessness
